Weather and News:

Updated Thursday, 07/03/08 08:25AM

It is a beautiful day here at Bosebuck Mountain Camps with a current temperature
of 67 degrees, a slight breeze and bright blue skies. Late this afternoon we
might have a few thunder storms blow through, but it's hard to predict. We watch
as they approach, but many times they seem to just skate around us.

The extended forecast is calling for a warm, holiday weekend so get out and enjoy
in your own back yard if you can't spend it with us. Friday night is Bosebuck BBQ
- chicken, ribs and kielbasa with cornbread and potato salad.

As you can see from webcam2 the water is finally dropping to a reasonable level.
Our fire pit is no longer submerged and we actually can see the grass of the front
lawn.

Sonia finally caught her first brookie, 15 inches right off the dock a couple of
days ago and followed up yesterday with a nice salmon. She was so excited, I thought
the place was on fire or something.

For anyone lucky enough to have been drawn for a moose permit in Wildlife Management
District #7, this is a great place to stay for your hunt. Although we can't guarantee
a harvest, the odds are in your favor. Also, don't forget we are located within 3 miles
of the New Hampshire boarder so if you're a New Hampshire moose lottery winner for
Wildlife Management Unit A, Bosebuck is the place for you. We have Maine & New Hampshire
guides on staff who are very familiar with the surrounding terrain.

Speaking of hunting, check out our "Rates" section for both bear and deer hunting packages.
For those of you unable to sneak out of work for a full week, we are offering a three-day
bear hunt so call for details. Fall will arrive before we know it and the leaves will be
crackling under our feet.

Bosebuck Mountain Camps isn't just about fishing this time of year. We have had several
guests spot bear, moose, deer, rabbits, eagles and of course loons at various times over
the past few days. This is really a bird watcher's paradise too!

This is a great place to hold your own corporate retreat, family reunion, wedding
or group event with or without overnight accommodations. Give us a call to discuss
your situation and we can work out the details together.

For anyone interested in traveling off the beaten path it is a much more pleasurable
experience if you can navigate on your own. The use of map and compass is an age old
method of wilderness navigation, however with today's new technology, the map and compass
can mean so much more than it used to. A Wilderness Navigation class will provide you
with the basic map and compass skills that will make the use of Global Positioning System
(GPS) meaningful and enjoyable. GPS is pretty much meaningless without a map and compass.
Join us in our two day clinics that create a sound base of knowledge in map and compass,
and then introduce you to GPS. Classroom and practical application go hand in hand to give
you a confidence in the wilderness. In conjunction with Owl's Roost Outfitters,
Bosebuck Mountain Camps will be offering Wilderness Navigation Clinics, on the following dates;

Arrive Friday, July 17th with classes held on the 18th & 19th
Arrive Friday, July 25th with classes held on the 26th & 27th
Arrive Friday, August 22nd with classes held on the 23rd & 24th

                      **Minimum of 5 students required**

2 Day Wilderness Navigation Course fee is $385.00 Per person (plus tax & gratuity) which
includes two nights accommodations, meals and course materials. 50% deposit required to
confirm your reservation. Please call or email Bosebuck Mountain Camps today.

We have been pleased with the VERY positive response to the Didymo prevention wash
we have instituted here at Camp. All our guests are happy to do what they can to
preserve this pristine watershed. Only together, can we maintain this wilderness for
future generations.

		 		**FOR YOUR INFORMATION**

Ongoing maintenance on Parmachenee Road which includes replacing culverts and ditching.
So please keep in mind that you may experience some wait time on the drive in to camp.
Keep an eye out for trucks and equipment in the road. They have also begun logging operations
so be sure to pull over when you see a logging truck headed your way.

** Please be advised that in order to prevent the extremely invasive algae “Didymo” from
entering our pristine watershed, anything that enters the water from Bosebuck will be
washed down with an appropriate cleaning solution prior to entering the lake. That
includes fishing gear, wader clothing, water shoes, sandals, canoes & kayaks. For more
information visit
